The Joy Test™ Evaluation was born in my early years after becoming a coach.
I was on a call with my coach and we were talking about my life and how overwhelmed I was feeling. We spent some time looking at what I was doing and what I was involved with. She asked me a brilliant question (as coaches are prone to do):
"Are any of those things bringing you joy?"
Well, after that call a post-it went onto my computer where I could see it all the time. All it said was:
"Does this bring you joy?"
With that reminder in sight, everything that came across my desk was put to the test. I looked at the post-it and answered the question. If the answer was yes, I did whatever the task was. If it was no, I just plain didn’t do it.
As a result of this one coaching session, I resigned from a number of boards and committees, stopped attending meetings where my soul was not being fed, and stopped taking on new projects that just didn’t excite me.
There were a lot of people who didn’t understand but that didn’t matter. My life changed.
I began experiencing more peace. I was having more fun. The things I was involved in (both professionally and personally) made me happy. And my business really took off. I had as many clients as I wanted and I was able to easily manage it all.
I knew other people needed to know what I had just discovered - That life can be a joyful experience and it is a daily choice.
The Joy Test™ Evaluation was created.
And then it grew into more and more.
Anyway, because of that one conversation my life became joyful and my life was full of peace.
That’s what I want for you, too!
As a Master Certified Coach, joy is always part of my coaching … no matter what clients are working on.
